Advertising rules
What we accept and reject for the rotating sponsor slot. Mirrors Creem.io's prohibited categories — they're our payment processor — plus a few willisellit-specific ones.
What we won't advertise
These categories are rejected automatically. Most are inherited from Creem.io's processor rules — running these through our slot would put our payment account at risk. A few extras we add ourselves are flagged below.
- Adult content & services Pornography, escort services, adult subscription content, sex-toy retail.
- Gambling, betting, lotteries Casinos, sportsbooks, fantasy-sports money games, raffles, sweepstakes-as-business.
- Drugs & pharmaceuticals Recreational drugs, prescription meds without licensed pharmacy, nootropic "smart drugs," CBD/THC where regulated.
- Weapons & ammunition Firearms, knives marketed as weapons, tactical gear sold for self-defense, ammunition, accessories that defeat regulation.
- Tobacco, vaping, e-cigarettes Including nicotine pouches, hookah, and vape hardware/liquids.
- Counterfeit & replica goods Fake-brand merchandise, knockoff luxury, unauthorized replicas of any kind.
- Multi-level marketing & pyramid schemes Recruitment-driven income models, "business opportunities" with downline-based pay.
- Get-rich-quick & miracle claims Guaranteed-income courses, "passive $10K/mo" funnels, miracle-cure supplements, weight-loss promises.
- Phishing, scams, deceptive products Anything designed to mislead users, fake reviews, deceptive billing, dark-pattern subscriptions.
- Hate speech & harassment Content targeting protected groups, harassment platforms, discriminatory services.
- Copyright infringement & piracy Unauthorized streaming, cracked software, account-sharing services, IP-stripping tools.
- Hacking & surveillance Stalkerware, account-takeover services, credential resellers, "boost-followers" botnets, exploit kits.
- Recurring billing without disclosure Free-trial-to-subscription traps, hidden auto-renewals, cancellation hostage tactics.
- Cryptocurrency token sales & ICOs New-token launches, NFT mints marketed as investments, yield-promising DeFi products.
- Shell-business listings (willisellit-specific) Sites with no real revenue or product, "aged domains" sold as a business, parked domains.
- Direct broker competitors (willisellit-specific) We don't run ads for marketplaces or brokers competing with our valuation tool. Adjacent tools (analytics, hosting, accounting) are fine.
What we do accept

- Online businesses for sale Ecommerce stores, content sites, newsletters, SaaS, agencies — your own listing, with verifiable revenue.
- Founder services Accounting, bookkeeping, legal templates, due-diligence help, M&A consulting.
- Hosting, infra, dev services Web hosting, CDN, email-sending, transactional APIs, analytics platforms.
- Newsletters & communities Paid or free, business-of-software topic, indie hacker communities, founder mastermind groups.
- Books, courses, podcasts About building, running, buying, or selling online businesses. Honest claims only.
How review works
From payment to live ad
- You pay. Creem.io processes the card. You get a Creem receipt by email.
- We review. A human checks your URL, copy, and target audience against this page. We aim for under 48 hours.
- If it passes. Your ad enters the rotating slot pool. You'll get a tracking ID by email and can request stats anytime.
- If it doesn't. We refund the full amount automatically — same card, 3–5 business days. We email you the specific reason.
- If it's borderline. We may email you with a small revision request (e.g. softening a claim, swapping a screenshot). Your slot reservation holds while we wait for your reply.
Edge cases not listed here go to our judgment. We err on the side of refund-and-skip rather than approve-and-regret. If you think we got it wrong, reply to the rejection email — we read every one.
